Han-Bok : Korean's beautiful Clothe.
When you talk about 'traditional clothes' , what comes to your mind? Kimono from
Koreans wore Han-Bok at livings until the 1930's. And after the western culture came, most of Koreans started to wear western style clothes. But still we wear Han-Bok at our traditional holidays, and some of the old peoples enjoy to wear it for livings. Han-Bok is very beautiful because of its color. There are various kinds of colors used at Han-Bok. For both men and woman, the color of the top and the bottom are different. And we do not use colors like firey red or fluorescent yellow. Because they are to strong, so they can bury the face of the person who wears Han-Bok. So instead of them we use more pastel colors like sky blue, light pink, soft purple, bluish green; tone-downed color that can bring out the person's face.
And the size of Han-Bok, they are quite loose. The sleeves are very wide enough to hide some apples. Also the pants, and skirt too. And because it is made of a fabric called Myoung-Ju or silk, they are as light as feathers and so comfortable as you are wearing a smooth blanket. So whether you are thin or fat, Han-Bok can fit to any size. And also, it fits to foreigners too! Doesn't matters your skin tone; white or pink or black, Han-Bok's colors are so various that we can find them a perfect match.
Han-Bok is not famous, but when it is shown to someone, almost everybody says they are beautiful. So, it is a very important thing that Koreans should keep. As I said, Han-Bok can be a international clothe; It is great to everyone!

ReplyDeleteYour writing reminds me of my childhood. When I was young, I used to wear Han-Bok on New years day and I loved it very much because of its beautiful colors :)
I think it's also good to add the infomation about Han-bok that differ from person to person, which I mean that various kinds of Han-Bok for men, women, child. Or you could also mention about some of the fashion shows that deal with Han-Bok, although it's just my personal opinion.

ur thesis statement was that hanbok is beautiful, which is the appearance. but u talk abt comfortability in the second prg. so maybe i would have been better if you either broadened the topic sentence or change the second part a bit (more about appearance,maybe?!) it was my humble opinion ;)
